The Law of Correspondence

We are all governed by a set of universal laws and I’m sure you’ve heard of certain ones like the Law of Attraction and the Law of Vibration. However, those are just pieces of the intricate puzzle that involves creating our reality.

Every time we are not in line with the universal laws, resistance builds up and things become more difficult at many levels. Manifesting our goals and dreams suddenly takes so much more effort and things don’t flow easily.

Understanding the main universal laws at play in our lives, and how they work together, gives us insights into how to prevent resistance, what we can do to reach our goals, and how to master our reality.

In this article, we are going to focus on one of these universal laws – The Law of Correspondence.

What is the Law of Correspondence?

Just like the other universal laws, the Law of Correspondence works and acts as a guiding principle to help us design our dream life.

The Law of Correspondence states that there is always a correspondence between the outer world and the inner world – “as within, so without” or “as above, so below.” There is a correspondence between what is going on around us and what is going on inside us.

In other words, our outer world is a direct reflection of our inner world!

This means that if our inner world is unhappy, our outer world will be unhappy. The outer world is nothing more than a mirror of what is going on inside us.

If we have low self-esteem, feel badly about ourselves or constantly feel anger, hatred or loathing, our outer reality will naturally be unhappy, chaotic or unfulfilling as it is a direct result of what is happening inside us.

The thoughts and images that we have in our consciousness appear, subconsciously, in our external world. The mind takes everything as it is and begins to recreate exactly what we’re focusing on the most, whether good or bad.

It does not matter what we try to change on the outside if we don’t try to change it on the inside as well. Our reality will continue to manifest in a way that reflects our inner state.

That is why certain lessons in our lives are repeated over and over again until we actually learn our lesson. If we are in a negative state of mind, feeling miserable about ourselves and our life, it then becomes a self-perpetuating situation where the worse the outer world becomes, the worse we then feel about ourselves, and the worse is the direct impact on our reality. Our outer world becomes chaotic, just to show us what we are projecting, until we learn how to align and use the Law of Correspondence.

How to use the Law of Correspondence?

As the quality of our life experience corresponds directly with the quality of our thoughts, it is essential to escape from the trap of transferring energy from our minds in the form of thoughts, emotions, actions, and words in a low vibrational energy that is then returned to us to revisit at the same exact low frequency. It is critical to shift this paradigm! (Check out the Hawkins scale to find out what energy frequency you are vibrating at.)

Initially, consider your thoughts and attitudes. Thoughts don’t just fall out of the sky! There must be specific beliefs triggering your specific thoughts. For instance, if you believe that you are unhappy, your thoughts will always be very negative and unhappy, which will lead to an unhappy life.  Remember that according to the Law of Correspondence, the outer world reflects the inner world in every way, shape and form. In order to change the outer world, you will need to first change your inner world, your thoughts and your beliefs.

If your thoughts are counter to your goals – you cannot succeed! The Law of Correspondence and the Law of Attraction will be working against you.

So, try to find the reason why you are having specific negative beliefs and thoughts. Do you have any inner fears that are reflecting on the outside? Sometimes we have to dig deep and reflect on things that we haven’t thought of in a very long time. We need to learn how to face our own shadows or we’ll continue to see them in others – in the outer world. As you learn more about yourself and your hidden beliefs, suddenly, you might realize that you are on a different road to where you are supposed to be.

“Life doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you” I am sure you’ve heard this a million times. The Law of correspondence wants you to remember that unless you start paying attention to your thoughts, you might be stuck in a victim mentality, manifesting a reality that doesn’t serve you. Your reality will not change until you learn the lessons. Therefore, it is time to be aware of your inner world and whatever you do at the micro level, because that will have a correspondence at the macro level.

The Law of Correspondence wants you to also consider everything that’s going on in your life and that’s good – the trees, the sky, a friend, a family member, the food on your plate, the light, and all the love that surrounds you. Have you ever noticed?

If the answer is yes, and your life seems calm and grounded, it is because you feel peace within. That’s beautiful!

The key is to stop looking for unique reasons to explain what happens to us in other places and instead, realize that we’ll find the real answers by looking inside. The inner world is the place where we have the almost absolute power, the outer world, is just a reflection. It’s time to go within!
